One night, in a dream where fields stretched endlessly,
we tiptoed in and carried this little horse out — gently,
just before the dream ended.
It never noticed it left. Still hasn't.
Still wearing that lace bow we tied on,
still rocking in its sleep.
Nudge it once, and it sways —
mumbling tiny gallops in its sleep.
And if you've looked away too long, sometimes...
it shifts on its own up there.
